AA four star Bed and Breakfast Accommodation

Tony and Jenni Oakhill offer you a warm welcome to Meadows Cottage.  Relax in this peaceful hideaway, ideally set in 6.5 acres of gardens and pony paddocks, and down a short private drive.

You will be able to sit and enjoy the surroundings with its abundance of birdlife, and where deer can often be seen in the adjoining fields.  Or perhaps take a walk by the koi pond, over the ornamental bridge and into the garden, taking in the roses, and the rhododendron walk, with its array of colour in the spring.

Our Bed and Breakfast Accommodation
The three classically decorated and furnished en suite bedrooms are all on the ground floor.  There is also your own front entrance.
  • The King Garden room is the larger of the two double rooms, and extra beds can be put in to accommodate a family.
  • The Double Garden room is also a large room where an extra bed can be made available.

Both these rooms have sliding doors to a patio for sitting out and relaxing by the large koi pond.

  • The Twin Fountain room is another good-sized room overlooking an ornamental fountain.  The garden is accessible by a side gate, where there is plenty of outdoor seating.

Each room has a tea and coffee tray and a juice drink for children, a television with a variety of videos/dvds, and hairdryer.  There is a fridge in the hallway for your use.  A travel cot can be set up in any of the rooms for the smaller visitor.

A full traditional English breakfast is served in the Breakfast Room overlooking one of the paddocks.  It is freshly cooked to order using, where possible, local produce.  We make our own bread, and juice using apples from our own orchard.  We are happy to cater for special dietary needs if we know the requirements in advance.

You are welcome to wander round the paddocks and get to know the ponies.  There may even be an opportunity for younger visitors to groom a pony!

Discover Sway in the New Forest

Sway is well situated for enjoying all the New Forest has to offer.  We can give guidance and recommendations for various sight seeing trips, suitable horse riding stables, golf courses and bike hire and restaurants.  Freshwater fishing lakes are just a short walk away.  Ordnance Survey maps and books on walks are available to loan.

A stroll into the village and you will find a newsagent, grocer, chemist and butcher.

We are just 15 miles from Bournemouth and a similar distance from Southampton, both with excellent shopping facilities, theatres, cinemas, and other night life.

Local beaches are approximately a 10-15 minute car journey away, as is the ferry to the Isle of Wight.
