At Ocean Adventures, we provide sailing days and weekends on our skippered luxury yachts based in Hythe Marina, near Southampton. We offer a warm welcome to complete beginners and experienced sailors alike. Our sailing trips are designed to be hands on and are often popular with people looking to gain more experience whilst undertaking RYA courses such as Day Skipper; however, if you prefer, you can just sit back and enjoy the view.
The Solent coastline, the Needles, Hurst Castle and the Isle of Wight look fantastic from the water, why not take the opportunity to expereince this for yourself whilst exploring the New Forest area.

We aim to make sailing accessible. You may either choose to have exclusive use of our skippered yachts for you and your friends and family or simply buy individual places, so there is no need to necessarily charter a whole boat yourself and you have the reassurance of a fully qualified, friendly skipper at the helm.
What Sailing opportunities can we offer?
Ocean Adventures offer day, weekend and 5 day sails on our skippered, luxury yachts at accessible prices, aiming to recreate the experience of being on board a friend's yacht.
Choose to book either a single berth or the whole boat.
Our sails are designed to be hands on, so are popular with people looking to gain more experience whilst undertaking RYA courses such as Day Skipper; however, you can get involved as much or as little as you feel comfortable with.
Everyone is welcome, whether complete novice or experienced sailor - no specialist equipment is required, it is all provided.
We offer competitive prices, starting at just £140 per person for a weekend or £300 for the whole boat for one day. These prices include all on board catering, any related fuel/mooring costs and the provision of all specialist equipment. The sheltered waters of the Solent enable us to sail almost year round, which means we can offer a flexible schedule, covering weekends and weekdays.
Choose from:
- Midweek Sailing Adventures, 1 day, 2 day, 3 day and 5 day sailing trips and courses and whole yacht skippered charter. To many to list here!
- Round the Isle of Wight Sail - We meet at Hythe the night before, After a cooked breakfast we have out Safety briefing before setting sail down the Southampton Waters. We sail to Cowes for lunch and after lunch sail to either Yarmouth or Bembridge were we stop for the night. Following morning we set of and sail a round the back of the Isle of Wight and back to Hythe. A trip well worth doing!
- Day sailing - We meet up at our base at Hythe Marina, near Southampton at about 9.30 AM and after a safety briefing sail of down Southampton water either to Cowes or Portsmouth Harbour. Moor up and lunch onboard is provided or if you prefer can always try a Yachtsman Pub ashore. We then sail back to Hythe and aim to arrive back about 4.30 pm.
- Solent Sailing weekends and now midweek 2 day breaks - We meet up at our base at Hythe Marina, near Southampton on Friday evening (or Saturday morning if you prefer).
You will meet your skipper and have chance to settle into your berth aboard our 42ft yacht, then there is normally time for a drink at the bar with the rest of the weekend's crew. Following a hearty breakfast on Saturday morning, we set sail, heading out onto the Solent.Following a full day’s sailing, we often berth for the evening in Cowes, considered by many to be the home of world yacht racing.
The evening is then spent in one of the local restaurants/historic pubs.
To complete the yachting experience, you will sleep on board our comfortable, central heated yacht, where you will usually have the privacy of your own cabin.
On Sunday we spend a further full day cruising the Solent before making our way back down Southampton Water, arriving back at Hythe Marina at about 4pm. - Skippered Yacht Charter - Ideal for families, groups of friends or work colleagues. Enjoy the experience of having our luxury 42ft yacht to yourself (apart from our friendly, helpful skipper of course). We offer one day, two day (weekday or weekend) and five day sails and will always tailor the itinerary to meet your needs, tidal and weather conditions permitting.
Quintessence is safety coded for up to 10 people and is fully equipped will all safety equipment, including infant life jackets.

What's included?
Our prices are excellent value and fully inclusive of all on board catering and any associated fuel/mooring costs and the provision of all specialist equipment (including infant life jackets suitable from approx. 6 years).
For example hot/cold drinks, snacks and lunch are all available as standard; in addition, weekend trips include cooked breakfast.
Evening meals are generally not included and taken at a local restaurant/pub at your own expense.
