Tower Hall is steeped in history and has been the subject recently of an extensive renovation program. The property has been sympathetically and stylishly restored to an exceptionally high quality and is now available for discerning guests as bed & breakfast accommodation.
Situated on the doorstep of the Solent and New Forest; Tower Hall provides its guests with a unique opportunity to enjoy the wealth of activities that the area has to offer whilst also benefiting from a sumptuous and elegant but relaxed and informal base from which to explore.
Tower Hall is no ordinary bed & breakfast. This is an opportunity for discerning guests to stay in an elegant home, steeped in history and decorated to a very high standard. The bedrooms and reception rooms are all designed using the very best available furnishings & fittings and are in keeping with a spectacular country house.
All rooms benefit from en-suite bathrooms and the little touches one might associate with a top boutique hotel are all provided. Breakfast is either served in a stunning conservatory, which now leads to and surrounds the tower structure itself and where Italian marbled floors and attractive 360° gardens remind you of colonial days gone by, or in the marble floored main kitchen and breakfast room. The informal and welcoming hospitality however, will ensure that you are made to feel completely at home.
There are a variety of bedroom combinations and for example two rooms can be combined into a suite, should you have younger children with you or fancy indulging yourself with extra space.
High ceilings and top of the range furniture accentuate the grandeur of the experience and yet the country house style also invokes a warm and embracing atmosphere in all seasons.

The house and tower were conceived by Andrew Thomas Turton Peterson (1813-1906) whose career as a barrister saw him rise to leader of the Calcutta bar, eventually defending the Indian Princes of Delhi during the civil uprisings. During his time in India he became fascinated with two seemingly incongruous subjects, namely: spiritualism and methods of construction.
At the age of 55 he decided to retire and acquired a house in the ‘Manor of Arnewoood’ then called Drumduan where he built himself a mansion using concrete for a substantial part of the building. In those days little was proven in terms of concrete as a building material so Andrew Peterson decided that, to prove its value in construction, he would build a tower in his grounds that would stand six stories high with a spiral staircase. He would do this specifically using Portland cement based concrete.
The tower still stands today and is a testament to his beliefs. It is revered amongst aficionados as a landmark building of its time and we feel he would have been absolutely delighted if he were around today, to see the building so lovingly and skilfully restored by James Walrock the current owner.

The breakfast at Tower Hall is a treat and is served between 8am and 9.45am.
