Furzey Gardens at Minstead in the New Forest National Park

Furzey Gardens is set in the heart of the New Forest and is a must for all garden lovers and plant enthusiasts from all over the world. It is also a place in which to escape, just sit to enjoy the peace and tranquility, or stroll and unwind from today's hectic lifestyle.

Furzey Garden was established in 1922 and is renowned for its all year round interest with seating placed throughout the gardens for you to admire the beauty of the flowering shrubs, the lake and trees of botanical interest in all seasons. Look out for the heather garden and fernery, the extensive collection of azaleas and rhododendrons, and the strange Bottle Brush tree and Flaming Chilean Fire Trees.

All the buildings in Furzey Gardens have Thatched roofs including Furzey House which is reported to be the largest thatched cottage in the New Forest.

Explore Furzey House, the largest thatched cottage in the New Forest
Furzey is part of a registered charitable organisation which provides horticultural training and residential care for young people with learning disabilities through the work of the Minstead Training Project and a display of their work can be seen in the restored Forest Cottage which is thought to date back to 1560.
Refreshments are available in the large well stocked
Craft Gallery
which displays a wide range of arts and
crafts and exhibitions of paintings, textiles pottery are
held in the adjoining Art Gallery.

10am - 5pm March to October
Weekends until December 17th.
